OFTEC Director General Jeremy Hawksley described his hopes that the Oil & Renewable Energy Show will become the "jewel in the crown" event for the industry.
Explaining his ambition for the two-day event, the OFTEC head said he believed the show was a "must-attend" for anyone connected with the fuel oil and renewable markets.
"We have a very high level of confidence that the show will be a complete success," he added. "This will be a big event that will be highly relevant to a niche, yet massive, market
"The show will target a particular sector of the home and building heating industry that hasn't been well served until now.
"Oil or ‘off-gas' technicians now have an event where they can hear and learn about their industry and gain a greater understanding of the new products."
Jeremy explained how the Oil & Renewable Energy Show 2012 event will be a unique opportunity for heating technicians and the rest of the 10,000 OFTEC-registered members to learn further about:
Retrofitting homes on to biofuels
• Promoting the future market of complementary technologies, such as solar panels
and ground-source heat pumps
• Viewing in person the relevant and very latest products and services on the market
• Updated technical guidance in line with regulation change and achieving best practice
• The opportunities that await following the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) consultation
He added: "There will be a particular focus on the renewable technologies that can be used to complement the oil heating and cooking industry.
"This show provides attendees the opportunity to network, learn, test and explore in one hit - there will also be discounted products on the OFTEC Direct stand and the Awards for Excellence dinner on the Friday night.
"There are plans for forums to allow technicians a formalised networking opportunity and I am confident that with everything else that is being provided, event-goers will leave the show enriched."
Jeremy added: "This is a time of big change and the industry has to react to the climate change agenda. There is a lot of work needed, which means there is a big market opportunity out there.
"This event will be enormously beneficial in helping to re-skill the industry and provide the technicians with the information, the products and the insight to gain a real edge.
"We have a community to serve and we want this show to help build them up, we firmly believe this event will become a real jewel in the crown of the event calendar."
